About Us

HIM exists to point people to Christ and all the opportunities that a life serving Him provides.  Our outreaches depend upon the
provisions of God through donors world-wide.
Hosean is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit in the U.S. and is also recognized by the
Haitian government as an NGO (Le Moniteur, Feb. 15, 2007).

Our Ministry

Current ongoing ministries are centered primarily in the community of Pignon,
Haiti.  Hosean Int'l employs over 150 national staff members.  HIM has established
a large school campus,
College de la Grace, with over 800 students enrolled
in the 2006-07 school year.
Camp de la Grace, a retreat center on a lush
30 acre campus, hosts annual camps and seminars for all ages.
An
electrical cooperative was started by HIM staff upon the donation of large scale
generators to provide electricity to our entire community.  Up and running now
since 2005, our town has lights and a growing percentage of homes have power as well. Our longest running ministry is an
orphanage/foster home the
"Layton Stamper Memorial Children's Home".  Since 1984, this facility has provided room & board, and an
education to over 150 children.   All of these outreaches are expanding each year.

Who We Are

Our founder and current National Director, Caleb Lucien, grew up in Pignon, Haiti.  Experiencing the challenges inherent in the
developing world caused Caleb to "dream BIG!"  He was privileged to be able to study in the U.S. completing his undergrad work at
Washington Bible College in Lanham, MD.  He then finished two master's degrees (Theology & Education) at Dallas Theological Seminary.
In 1989, Caleb returned full time to Haiti to continue expanding the vision of outreach he had for the next generation to have more
opportunities than he had found.  Contact:
Lucienscd@aol.com.

Joining Caleb as full time staffers are two American young women.  Floridian Kara Emerson joined us in 2003 to assist with
administrative tasks.  Lindsay Downham, from Indiana, came in 2006 to teach English to elementary students.  Both are a huge blessing
to all they have come in contact with.
